The Textile Association of India

The Textile Association (India), the largest single professional body in the country having memberships of Managerial, Technical and Supervisory staff working in Textile Mills, Research Association, De- centralised sectors as well as from the allied industries has now 27 federal units spread over almost all Textile Centers of the country having more than 22000 members.

Ahmedabad Unit was established on 16 November 1948 and last year our unit completed 60 years and th celebrated Diamond Jubilee year. Now, The Textile Association (India) Ahmedabad unit crossed 4000 membership and today Ahmedabad unit is the second largest unit in the fold of The Textile Association (India).

The Textile Association (India) Ahmedabad Unit has its healthy link with Research, Academic, Manufacturer, Technology Users as well as Govt. of Gujarat and Ministry of Textile Govt. of India. Also Gujarat Govt. selected SEZ to various cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, North Gujarat and Saurashtra in the field on Technical Textile, Apparel Park, Non-woven, Hosiery, Embroidery, and Textile Machinery & Accessories of Gujarat state. Textile Association India is one of the founder members of INDIA-ITME Society have signed MOU for establishing the latest Expo Centre near Ahmedabad with the Govt. of Gujarat at the time of Vibrant Gujarat Event.

The Unit has its own library having technical and management books concerning the textile and allied industries and members are taking benefit of the same.

Activities of The Textile Association (India) are as under:

•  Seminar, Lectures, Group Discussion and Road Shows for future events etc.
•  Publishing Tex-View (Bi monthly) and Journal of The Textile Association (JTA)
•  The Association is conducting ATA & GMTA courses for the technocrats who are working in the Textile Industries. The ATA & GMTA are recognized as equivalent to Diploma and Degree level by the Textile Ministry, Govt. of India.
•  Organising Conferences & Exhibitions every year.
•  Honorary Membership, Fellow of the Textile Association (FTA) awards are conferred to the qualified persons who fulfill award criteria from various areas of Textile Industries every year.
•  Association also awarding Life Time Achievement Award, Gold Medals and Service Medal to them who rendered best services towards the Association in every year during the Conference

The Ahmedabad Unit celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 1973, Golden Jubilee in the year 1998 and Diamond Jubilee in the year 2008. During the Diamond jubilee year The Textile Association (India)Ahmedabad Unit arranged 9 International & 63 AITC as well as TMEx’08 exhibition and meet th rd between All India Ginners & Cotton seed processors very large way.

The Textile Association (India) Ahmedabad Unit organized All India Textile Conferences and Exhibitions in 1951, 1961, 1966, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1993, 1998 and 2008.

The Association of Ahmedabad Unit received best unit trophy for its best activities on National level in the year 1995-96, 1996-97 & 1997-98 and also in the year 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07 continuously.

The Textile Association (India) Ahmedabad Unit achieved its major achievements under the great leadership of Shri T. L. Patel-President & Shri V. A. Trivedi-Hon. Secretary, who have rendering their honorary services with association since last six years.
